On Memorial Day we took some friends and neighbors shooting out at an open range in Saratoga Springs. What a fun day it was! We didn't have anyone to watch Jaden so we decided we would take a DVD player and leave the truck running with airconditioning and Jaden could eat snacks and watch a movie while each of us took turns standing right next to the truck. Well it was my turn to go shoot and Mark had taken his shift next to the truck watching Jaden. Well he was standing outside the truck. Jaden was fine and he was paying attention to the shooting for a moment when he looked back and realized Jaden had crawled in the front seat and made his way over near the window. Before Mark could open the door to put him back in the back Jaden had hit the automatic lock switch and had locked himself inside the truck. I was still paying attention to the shooting when suddenly I noticed everyone start to gather around the truck. Mark was patiently talking our 2 year old through unlocking the truck door. Bless Jaden's heart he was listening and trying with all his understanding to follow his daddy's instructions. He kept trying to push the buttons on the door but he kept pressing on the lock instead of the unlock. Then finally Mark got him to try autmatic window button and SUCCESS! He was able to roll the window down so we could get to the lock! After it was all over and my heart started leaving my throat we had a good laugh about it all. But we didn't make that mistake again for sure! Our neighbor Gordon who was with us still teases us about it to this day!
